The Communications Committee is a new committee merging the ways the PTA has been "communicating" with members and the public. The Publicity Sub-Committee makes contact with the local media for the purpose of promoting and advancing the PTA events. Press releases and pictures are provided to the newspapers about assemblies and other PTA functions. These pictures are then put into a scrapbook for the outgoing president at the end of his/her term as well as being used for bulletin boards and posters. The Newsletter Sub-Committee is responsible for the monthly collection, preparation, assembly and distribution of the PTA newsletter and publishing it on the PTA's website. The committee is responsible for managing the email distribution list. The paper-version was discontinued with the Sept. 2010 issue. If you are not yet receiving the newsletter by email, you can sign up for it by clicking here. The Website Sub-Committee uses photos and information from both the publicity and newsletter sub-committees to maintain and update the website.

Legislation and Bylaws
|
Robin Wodzisz (859-8088)

PTA local units are kept aware of legislative issues that affect children everywhere through contact with national, state, and other local PTAs. Local PTAs also keep up to date on issues that affect children in their own community. These issues are brought to the PTA members through bulletins, special programs, memos, letters, and the media.
The Lopatcong Township PTA's bylaws are reviewed and updated every three years as required by the NJ State PTA. Bylaws are presented to and approved by the general PTA membership and then sent to county and state PTA for adoption. A copy of the approved bylaws are always available at all PTA meetings as kept by the secretary of the organization. You can also view our bylaws here. The bylaws contain the basic policies of the national and state PTAs and contain adopted provisions that pertain to our local PTA.
