About Us
Lopatcong Township PTA

The National, State, and local PTAs are not-for-profit associations of parents, educators,
school administrators, students, and other citizens active in their schools and communities.
The PTA is a leader in reminding our nation of its obligations to children.
The Purpose of the PTA

    place of worship;

  • To raise the standards of home life;

  • To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth;

  • To bring into closer relation the home and the school, that parents and teachers may
    cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth; and

  • To develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will
    secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, social,
    and spiritual education.
Membership

The dues for membership in the Lopatcong Township PTA are $6.00 per person per year.
The PTA encourages both parents or guardians of students to join as well as the teachers
and members of the administration.  Of the $6.00, $1.75 goes to the National PTA, $1.75 to
the New Jersey PTA, and the remaining $2.50 is used by the Lopatcong Township PTA to

Bylaws

The Lopatcong Township PTA's bylaws are reviewed and updated every three years as
required by the NJ State PTA.  Bylaws are presented to and approved by the general PTA
membership and then sent to county and state PTA for adoption.  A copy of the approved
bylaws are always available at all PTA meetings as kept by the secretary of the organization.
You can also view our bylaws
here.  The bylaws contain the basic policies of the national and
state PTAs and contain adopted provisions that pertain to our local PTA.
